Annual Report 2004–2005
Welcome to the electronic version of the Murray-Darling Basin Commission (MDBC) Annual Report 2004–2005.
This report is to the Parliaments of the Australian Government, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Queensland; the Legislative Assembly of the Australian Capital Territory; and the Australian Community. It describes the objectives and significant achievements of the MDBC during the 2004–05 financial year, and is tabled before the parliaments of each jurisdiction through the Murray-Darling Basin Ministerial Council (Ministerial Council).
This report includes the annual report of the Murray-Darling Basin Ministerial Council’s Community Advisory Committee.
Part 1 contains the Chief Executive's review and the agency overview.
Part 2 focuses on River Murray Water (RMW) and covers the Strategic directions, Water resources management, River management activies, Asset management and RMW triple bottom line.
Part 3 reports on Natural Resource Management and covers the Functions, The Living Murray initiative, Strategy and programs, River Murray Water Quality Monitoring Program, Research and communication.
Part 4 covers Corporate services and includes the Secretariat, Management of human resources, Information and communication technology and Corporate communications.
Part 5 details Corporate governance including Functions of the Murray-Darling Commission, The Basin and Sustainability report: context and drivers of change.
Part 6 presents the Financial statements.
