The Foundation Report is a compendium of scientific information that was available at the time of development.

All information contained within the report has been compiled by the MDBC with significant input from the Australian, NSW, Victorian and SA governments. Primary sources of information are referenced. Some of the hydrological information has been produced by MDBC staff.

Common names for flora and fauna have been used throughout the report. A complete list of common names and their Latin equivalents is at Appendix A.
